THC is associated with the mind-altering effects it produces (aka “high”) when the compound is broken down by heat and introduced into the body – for example when someone smokes parts of the plant or adds those to food that is cooked.

CBD has none of the mind altering affects associated with recreational use of marijuana – it is not psychoactive. This means that it does not change the state of mind of the person who uses it.
